This year's Grammy Awards saw a plethora of celebrities from the music industry and beyond descend upon the red carpet in Los Angeles in an array of striking ensembles.

The sartorial prowess didn't end there, as the event's performers also raised the fashion stakes while on stage at Staples Centre.

Sparkles were definitely having a moment at the 61st Grammy Awards, with Lady Gaga donning an embellished catsuit for her rendition of 'Shallow' from A Star Is Born and host Alicia Keys wearing an eye-catching pair of high-waisted silver trousers for her powerful musical medley.

Cardi B also turned heads with her cheetah-inspired outfit for her performance of new single 'Money', as did Jennifer Lopez during her controversial tribute to Motown.

Here are all the best looks from the performances at this year's Grammys:

Lady Gaga's custom-made crystal-embellished catsuit was designed by Emmy Award-winning costume designer Perry Meek.

The star also wore custom black Pleaser boots, and sung with a matching crystal-embellished microphone.

"Lady Gaga can I get that catsuit when you're done with it," one fan tweeted. "Those crystals on there are popping."

People watching the awards show also praised Janelle Monáe's on-stage ensemble, which featured a black latex bodysuit and fishnet stockings.

"Who designed @JanelleMonae's performance outfit?! MARVELOUS," one Twitter user remarked.

"I will search for no information about the Grammys EXCEPT for outfits worn by Janelle Monáe and that is final," another added.
