From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Xbox is hosting its E3 conference, during which it is expected to unveil its next gen console and the games that will be played on it.

The event will allow Xbox to reveal the new titles coming over the next year and beyond.

And it will be the biggest event of the conference, since PlayStation has decided to avoid the gaming event entirely and will not be hosting a press conference.

As well as the next generation console, Microsoft is expected to show off a new Halo game, updates on Game Pass and its streaming service Project xCloud, as well as potentially unexpected Xbox games.

That is, indeed, it! Thanks for following along, everyone. A wrap of everything that happened on its way.

Here's a quick wrap of the biggest things from today:

  • Project Scarlett is real, and Xbox says it is fast. Microsoft is working with AMD on a new chip that's four times faster than the one in the Xbox One X, and there's storage that can perform up to forty times as quickly, which it says will do away with loading screens. It will arrive "Holiday 2020".
  • Halo Infinite is real too, and it's coming at the same time. The teaser showed a pilot, lost in space, sadly watching messages from his family. That is until he brushed the ice from his windscreen and saw Master Chief floating outside. He brought him inside, fired him up – and the two got ready to fight whatever was waiting outside.
  • Gears 5 will have a new mode where three players break into a nest and plant a bomb together, and then try and escape. And much more will be coming out over the summer.
  • Forza Horizon 4 is now made of lego.
  • There's a new Flight Simulator which looks very lush indeed.
  • Keanu Reeves is in Cyberpunk 2077, and it will come out in April next year. (Also people love Keanu so much that he couldn't even get through his speech.)
  • Loads of games are coming Xbox Game Pass. And it's coming to PC today. You'll also be able to get Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which includes both the console and PC versions as well as Xbox Live for $14.99.
  • There were heaps of trailers. Heaps upon heaps! Most of them for games we already knew about and showing cutscenes. But there was a lot of them all the same.

That's it for tonight. Thanks for tuning in. And keep an eye out on The Indy through the rest of the week as more is revealed about Xbox's announcements – as well as the rest of E3. Thanks!
