Hamilton was within one second of Verstappen when he was called in for a second pit stop - Mercedes hoping that a switch to fresh tyres would provide the British star with a chance to usurp Verstappen. The strategy move by Formula One's all-conquering team proved inspired.
Hamilton left the pit lane 21 seconds behind Verstappen with 21 laps remaining, the Briton lighting up the time sheets before catching the back of Verstappen's Red Bull. The world champion then made the move for victory stick around the outside of Verstappen on lap 67. Re-live the action below:

Lap 29: It was looking good for Hamilton, but he may be in a bit of trouble here. He informs his team of smoke coming from the car, and his lead has been cut to 17.278 seconds.
Lap 30: Here's how things stand after 30 laps.

Lap 31: Hamilton comes in! The stop takes four seconds and he now finds himself over five seconds behind Verstappen. His tyres are younger than the leader's, but he's got a lot of ground to make up.
Lap 33: Norris goes wheel to wheel with Magnussen and takes him on the inside. He moves up to ninth, while Bottas gets past Ricciardo into 11th.
Lap 35: Hamilton is right on Verstappen's tail! He's really pushing his car after the tyre change, and moves to just 0.561 seconds behind the leader. Brilliant driving from Hamilton.
Lap 36: Hamilton is attacking Verstappen, ramping up the pressure. He looks to overtake on the outside with the use of DRS. But he goes too wide and loses some time. Verstappen has done well to maintain the lead.
Lap 38: This is a fascinating battle between Verstappen and Hamilton. The latter is pushing for the lead, keen to take advantage of his fresher tyres. Verstappen, though, is stubborn.
Lap 39: So close for Hamilton! He twice looks to get past Verstappen, the two cars driving almost wheel to wheel. Hamilton goes on the outside and almost flies off the track. He's forced to abandon the attack and Verstappen survives.
Lap 40: A laboured pit stop from Ferrari as Vettel comes in. He stays in fourth but loses ground on his teammate Leclerc in third.
