From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

With local parks and back gardens now our only ticket to seeing friends and family, many of us have started hosting alfresco gatherings.

And with spring in the air, we can think of no better way to celebrate the return of our social lives than with a round of refreshing cocktails.

Whether you’re planning a fabulous outdoor fete or casual get-together, you should never underestimate the power of a party drinks menu and luckily, M&S has launched the ultimate palate pleaser.

Cast your mind back to December 2020 and stalwart fans of the grocer will remember when it caused a shopping frenzy following the launch of its clementine gin liqueur snow globe, which was made with 23-carat edible gold leaf and came in a light-up bottle.

The drink proved so popular that it sold out several times as customers stocked up for the festive season, prompting M&S to eventually impose a purchasing limit of just two bottles per person.

If you missed out last year, you’re in luck because the retailer’s sell-out gin liqueur is back just in time for spring. And this time it has a different seasonal twist.

Launching in stores and online via Ocado today, M&S has launched a new flavour of the popular drink: cherry blossom.

At just £17, we predict this new flavour is going to fly off the shelves like its predecessor. So, if you want to snap up a bottle (or two), you’re going to have to act fast. Here’s everything you need to know about the latest launch.

You can trust our independent round-ups. We may earn commission from some of the retailers, but we never allow this to influence selections. This revenue helps us to fund journalism across The Independent.

M&S cherry blossom gin liqueur: £17, Ocado.com

(M&S)

Following last year’s sell-out, the masterminds at M&S have relaunched their gin liqueur globe for spring/summer 2021 – and this time it comes in a new flavour.

Inspired by the beautiful springtime cherry blossom, it boasts delicate floral cherry notes with a hint of peach.

It promises to make a great addition to your bar cart, or even a wonderful gift, as it has an eye-catching “animated” label of blossom falling and features 23-carat edible gold leaf, which creates a magical scene when you shake the bottle. It’s almost too pretty to open. Almost.

Set to be the perfect summer tipple, you can serve it chilled over ice with tonic and berries, or create a fruity cocktail by topping up your glass with a dash of prosecco.
