Revlon is a beauty brand that garnered huge amounts of fans on the app, thanks to its one-step hair drying brush, a dual-purpose tool that allows you to brush through hair and dry it at the same time to achieve voluminous, sleek-looking locks.
The latest product to rack up millions of views and likes is the Revlon volcanic stone oil-absorbing roller, an hourglass-shaped tool that holds a rollerball, which when applied across the skin, absorbs excess oil.

The TikTok hashtag #revlonoilroller currently has 2.7 million views and there’s countless videos featuring the product on the app.
One user, @whitneymadueke, describes it as “a quick and easy oil-control hack”, and demonstrates by rolling it gently across her nose before revealing how it takes away any shine, without disrupting her make-up. Her video has been watched more than 203,000 times and liked by 23,700 fellow users.

Revlon volcanic stone oil-absorbing roller: £12.99, Amazon.co.uk
Designed to be used on bare skin or on a face full of make-up, the roller tool houses a volcanic stone that works to remove shine, and is reusable, unlike single-use blotting papers which are traditionally recommended for reducing oiliness.
Compact and lightweight, it’ll be easy to pop into your handbag for touch-ups on the go if you struggle to keep a shiny T-zone at bay but don’t want to resort to applying more powder on top of make-up.
To clean it, Revlon recommends twisting it clockwise to open, washing the stone with warm water and mild soap, rinsing then allowing it to air-dry overnight.
While we can’t speak to its effectiveness ourselves, one way of managing oil production is via your moisturiser, which can also create the ideal base for make-up. In our review of the best moisturisers for oily skin, the Glossier priming moisturiser balance (£23, Glossier.com) earned the top spot from our tester.
“The gel-cream formula contains marine extract to reduce oiliness and willow bark extract to smooth skin, while niacinamide improves the appearance of pores and uneven skin tone,” they said, describing the lightweight formula as fast-absorbing too.
Our reviewer went on to add: “We noticed immediate results on our T-zone which only improved over the course of the week. Instead of leaving skin totally matte, it had just a hint of dewiness that never devolved into a greasy mess or broke us out.”
