This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

The Independent is trusted by 27 million Americans from across the entire political spectrum every month. Unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock you out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. But quality journalism must still be paid for.

The brainchild of Romanian-born Anastasia Soare, Anastasia Beverly Hills has revolutionised the beauty industry with its innovative brow-shaping tools.

From pomades to pens and everything in between, it was one of the first brands to encourage us to step away from the tweezers and embrace our furrows in all their bushy glory.

While Soare launched her first eyebrow product collection in 2000, her stand-out range of pencils, tools and treatments didn’t make its way to the UK until 2012, when it was spotted all over our Instagram feeds and praised by beauty editors and bloggers alike for its game-changing formulas and chic packaging.

Since then, Anastasia Beverly Hills has expanded into other areas of make-up, including liquid lipsticks, contour kits, eyeshadow palettes, foundation and highlighter, all of which have helped transform the two-decade-old label into an undisputed beauty force.

The influencer-favourite products have been available to buy through the Anastasia Beverly Hills website, as well as third-party sellers such as Cult Beauty, Beauty Bay and lookfantastic for some time.

Anastasia Beverly Hills brow freeze: £23, Boots.com

(Anastasia Beverly Hills)

The latest innovation to be added to the brand’s extensive range of brow products, Brow Freeze has set the beauty world alight with editors, influencers and TikTokers raving about its ability to effortlessly lift and hold your brows for a full, feathered look. But, does it really live up to the hype? In our review of the product, our tester said it made a huge difference to the shape of their arches, so much so that it has become a staple in their make-up bags.

“Instantly, we were surprised at how strong it was,” they said. “With just a thin layer, we were able to lift our brow hairs at the front straight upward, fan out those along the top and strategically place any on the bottom line to create the illusion of fullness. We found that this wax made our brows stick for hours, enduring wet and windy walks by the sea with barely a hair shifting out of place.”

Anastasia Beverly Hills lash brag volumising mascara: £26, Boots.com

(Anastasia Beverly Hills)

The past year seen many brands step up their mascara launches, from Fenty’s long awaited launch in January to Maybelline’s latest formula promising better results than a lash lift. But, in our round-up of the best beauty new launches, it was Anastasia Beverly Hills’ mascara that caught our attention.

“It delivers on all its promises: voluminous, fanned out lashes that are lengthened and curled, but at a speed other formulas don’t manage, as the hourglass wand coats hairs instantly from root to tip, giving instant volume and fluttery, defined lashes with just one coat,” our tester said. “Infused with nourishing waxes, the jet-black formula doesn’t smudge or flake off throughout the day and lashes stay curled and voluminous. It’s a splurge at £26, and there are definitely cheaper options that offer similar results, but we were impressed with how quickly we achieved dramatic lashes with this, and we like that it has weighty, quality metal packaging to match, too.”

Anastasia Beverly Hills dipbrow gel: £19, Boots.com

(Anastasia Beverly Hills)

Whether you’re looking to build colour, cover greys or fill in gaps caused by overplucking, brow gels are a brilliant tool to have in your make-up. In our round-up of the best ones, Anastasia Beverly Hills’s dipbrow gel was praised for its ability to create statement arches.

“This comes in a brilliant shade range if you have brown or black brows (we’d consider eight of the total 11 fairly dark shades),” they said. “It has a smudgy, powdery finish – no need for a pencil underneath it – with a waxy hold that keeps unruly hairs tamed all day. The pigment is quite intense, so this is one for those who want strong, statement brows, not light, natural ones.”

Anastasia Beverly Hills luminous foundation: £43, Boots.com

(Anastasia Beverly Hills)

In 2019, the brand launched its new luminous foundation, which sought to rival Fenty Beauty’s inclusive range of shades by offering an impressive 50 different hues.

The formula featured in our review of the best foundations for Asian skin tones, where our tester highlighted it for being vegan, gluten-free, non-comedogenic, long-wearing and ophthalmologist tested. “The product itself is medium coverage and provides a subtle glow, however those with more pronounced lines would need to ensure their skin is primed and hydrated, as there is a tendency for this to sink into creases,” they said. “The foundation comes in 50 shades, broken down into five categories of fair, light, medium, tan and deep. This is perfect for those who struggle to find a colour match – and we totally recommend it for darker tones as the colour shows up a little deeper than initially matched.”

Anastasia Beverly Hills lipstick: £21, Boots.com

(Anastasia Beverly Hills)

Anastasia Beverly Hills might be best-known for its liquid lipstick formulas, but in our round-up of the best red lip colours, it was the brand’s more traditional lipstick that stood out as a real frontrunner.

Testing the shade “rosewood”, our reviewer described it as being a deep, muted red. “It’s very matte, but those who prefer a bit of shine can easily top it with a gloss,” they said. “You can also rest easy knowing your look is flake-free, as its natural oils help cushion and protect lips from the elements. While it is warm toned, it’s subtle enough to complement cooler skin tones.”
