Calling all bargain hunters – Amazon’s 48-hour October Prime Day kicks off in just a few hours, and if you’re already raring to go, you’ll be happy to hear the ecommerce giant has revved its engine early and there are some stellar savings to be found on its own-brand gadgets.
While the Prime Big Deal Days sale (that’s what it’s officially called) doesn’t begin until tomorrow, I’m already seeing Amazon take chunks out of the price of its Fire TV Sticks, Kindle tablets, Echo smart speakers and even its Ring video doorbells.
The retailer is also expected to slash prices on everything from TVs and laptops to beauty and home appliances, including vacuum cleaners, heated clothes airers and dehumidifiers, as well as tech from Apple,home essentials and electric toothbrushes from Oral-B.

Looking to bring a virtual assistant into your home? This Alexa smart speaker has plummeted to just £20 in this early Prime Day deal. If you want cheap and cheerful, I’m a fan of the Amazon Echo Pop.

With a massive 56 per cent saving, this is one of the best deals in Amazon’s early Prime Day deals. One of the newest additions to the Echo family, the Echo Pop looks like the Dot sliced in half. “But don’t be deceived by its minuscule price tag, this semi-spherical machine with a slanting speaker packs a punch,” I said in my review.
Save on these AirPods Max with this early Prime Day headphones deal
I’ve just spotted this fantastic discount on Apple’s AirPods Max. I’ve been tracking the price of the wireless headphone since Apple raised the price in 2022, and it’s never dropped this low before.
