Justin Rohrlich

Justin Rohrlich is a senior news reporter at The Independent. He was previously at The Daily Beast, where he broke national stories involving rogue CIA officers, corrupt defense contractors, malevolent Airbnb hosts, and was the first reporter to interview would-be Ronald Reagan assassin John Hinckley at the end of his court-ordered supervision. Before that, Justin worked on the Geopolitics desk at Quartz, and was part of multiple investigations in partnership with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. Based in New York, Justin has filed dispatches from, among other places, Havana, Chernobyl, and Medellin, for outlets such as Foreign Policy, Vice News, and Slate. He won an Emmy in 2008.
