One week after her surprise departure from the CW series, Rose addressed her decision to quit for the first time as she re-shared a fan video of her time on the show, writing: “Thank you everyone for coming on this journey.”
Praising her Batwoman co-stars for their support, she continued: “If I mentioned everyone it would be 1000 tags.. but Thank you to the cast, crew, producers and studio.
“It wasn’t an easy decision but those who know, know.. I didn’t want to not acknowledge everyone involved and how big this was for TV and for our community.
“I have stayed silent because that’s my choice for now but know I adore you all. I’m sure next season will be amazing also. Xxx *hangs up cowl and cape.”
Rose played Batwoman, also known as Kate Kane, for just one season of the CW superhero series before announcing last Wednesday (20 May) that she would not be returning to the show.
“I have made the very difficult decision to not return to Batwoman next season,” said the Australian actor in a statement.
Reports suggest that tensions arose as Rose was unhappy with the long hours required of her to work on set.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Stephanie Beatriz has already hinted at her desire to take over the role, but there is still no word from The CW on who is in contention to be Rose’s replacement.
