Tonight’s episode of Love Island saw Connagh and Finley enter the villa, the twins suffering quite a bit of rejection and Connor and Sophie’s relationship continue to be on the rocks after their tension on Wednesday night.

It wasn’t the most eventful episode but it was all paving the way for a recoupling in the next instalment…

Check out the biggest talking points from the episode below.

1. Connagh and Finley arrive

Two new boys arrived in the villa, and they could each choose two girls each to take on dates. Connagh chose Sophie (who said he looked like Anthony Joshua’s brother, although I wasn’t convinced) and Shaughna, who is definitely keen on him and enjoying giving Callum the cold shoulder. Finley, meanwhile, went for Siannise and Paige, who both clicked with him but were a little put off by how young he is: 20. Neither of the twins were picked, and they seemed a little bruised by the rejection.

2. Connor and Sophie are on the rocks

Last night’s episode ended with tense scenes between Connor and Sophie after she made a joke about being excited for new boys to arrive and Connor had a bit of a sense of humour failure. Then they made up in tonight’s episode, but not for long, as Sophie had to explain to Connor the difference between a joke and a non-joke and it became awkwardly clear he is more into her than she is into him.

3. The next recoupling is announced

Laura Whitmore will be strolling back into the villa tomorrow night for the next recoupling. And the one girl who is not picked will be sent packing. My bets are on one of the twins…

The live blog is now closed...

Ahead of the show, here's a re-cap of last night's riveting events...

1. Ollie exits the show

So, in news that the world already knew, 23-year-old estate owner and potential trophy-hunter Ollie Williams decided to leave the villa after just three days. His reason? Because he realised he still has feelings for his ex--girlfriend. "This show's about love, isn't it?" he told his fellow contestants after he gathered them around the firepit to break the news. They were all a bit taken aback and perhaps a little bit too emotional considering they've known him for 72 hours.

2. Sianisse puts Nas straight

Nas is quite clearly this series's class clown, but sadly this has put him in the "friend zone" area with Sianisse. Perhaps it's because of this that he feels the beauty consultant from Bristol has been giving him "mixed signals". So, when this news got back to her via Jess, she snapped into action and pulled him to one side. "There's no spark romantically," she told him firmly, extinguishing any hope of a romance between the pair. Not that anyone expected there to be one.

3. Connor's questionable reaction

It all started to go a bit wrong for Connor when Paige bellowed: "I've got a text!" After swiftly discovering that two new boys were poised to enter the villa the next day, Connor was shocked to see Sophie – with whom he's coupled up – waving her hands in the air and whooping in celebration. "It's a bit muggy," he told the boys before taking Sophie to one side in order to work out whether or not she was joking (answer: she quite clearly was). Even after she tells him she meant nothing by it, he looks at her like she'd just urinated on his shoes and controllingly berated her for her reaction. If he wants to win the game, he's going to have to develop a bit of a thicker skin.

Connagh and Finley will be joining the show and inevitably ruffling a few feathers...

Ollie is, of course, absent from the villa, having quit the series because he still had feelings for his ex. Well, it was either his broken heart that forced him to leave or the terrible press the show was getting after pictures of him posing with animal carcasses emerged... muggy.

Not long to go until Love Island is back and the villa is introduced to Connagh and Finley... I'm off to do some sudoku in an attempt to stop my mind from disintegrating as a side effect of watching so much of this show. See you in 30 minutes!

And so it begins...

It's Connagh v Connor for Sophie's attention

Is it just me or are the slo-mo music segments getting longer and more frequent with every episode of Love Island? Because nothing ever happens?
