Julia Louis-Dreyfus describes phone call from Joe Biden following her cancer diagnosis

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has revealed she received an “astoundingly thoughtful” phonecall from Joe Biden after her cancer diagnosis.

The former Seinfeld and Veep star announced on Twitter that she was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2017, declaring on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in October 2018 that she was cancer-free.

Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Louis-Dreyfus opened up about the gesture from Biden, the ex-vice president competing against Donald Trump in the forthcoming US presidential election.

“It was just so beyond the beyond in terms of kindness,” she said. “For real, it was astoundingly thoughtful. And I couldn't get him off the phone, by the way! I was like, ‘Don't you have to run the country?’ But he really wanted to talk to me about my medical plan and how I was going to do it.

“It was incredibly sweet and needless to say, that's certainly not the reason he has my support,” she added. “But it is emblematic of the thoughtfulness and kindness that are a part of his personality, which is sorely missing right now in the White House.”

The Emmy-winning actor explained that Biden was “very well connected” when it came to cancer specialists. Biden’s son Beau died in 2015 from brain cancer at the age of 46.

Louis-Dreyfus and Seinfeld co-star Jason Alexander recently ridiculed Trump’s dance moves on social media, likening them to the cringe-inducing dancing her character, Elaine, enacts on the hit Nineties sitcom.

The Seinfeld cast also just announced they would be reuniting for a fundraiser with the intention of “flipping” Texas towards a Democratic majority.
