From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. The I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! cast have been busy welcoming their two new campmates to jungle life.

Love Island favourite Maura Higgins and broadcaster Reverend Richard Coles made a dramatic entrance on Thursday’s episode (21 November).

That said, the pair are not quite roughing it like the rest. Instead, they’re being treated to mugs of tea, bubble baths, and fluffy robes – unbenownst to their fellow stars, one of whom Higgins has a surprising and potentially awkward connection with.

Also during the episode, Coleen Rooney opened up about her relationship with Wayne Rooney and appeared to address his “difficult” cheating scandals in the past.

Among this year’s contestants are Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall and Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse. Others include McFly singer Danny Jones, Barry McGuigan and Rooney, who is the show’s highest-paid star in its history.

New episodes of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! air on ITV1 and ITVX every night at 9pm.

And it begins! I’m a Celebrity day four....

If you need a bit of reminding who’s who, you can check out our lineup guide at any point. Today promises more highlights from Loose Women star and content creator GK Barry, and BBC Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough, among others.

‘I watched the boxsets of Miranda to learn how to be funny,’ reveals I’m a Celeb star

I’m a Celeb star GK Barry has revealed Miranda Hart as the inspiration for her comedy.

The Loose Women star and content creator is one of 10 contestants currently being doused in bugs in the I’m a Celeb jungle, and used some rare downtime in the camp to discuss her upbringing and sexuality.

Barry, who is speculated to be earning low five-figures for her participation in the show, told her campmates that she first discovered comedy through studying episodes of Hart’s hit BBC sitcom.

“I used to watch the boxsets of Miranda to learn how to be funny,” she said, adding that it wasn’t until she began cracking jokes that she overcame her insecurities as a teenager. “I was really lanky,” she said. “Buck teeth. Gap. Hairy arms. Greasy hair.”
