From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Tensions mounted in Sunday’s episode of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! when Jane Moore and Barry McGuigan argued over camp chores.
McGuigan and Danny Jones were voted by the public to become the new camp leaders, but quickly ruffled feathers by selecting Moore and Tulisa to wash up, and Coleen Rooney and Maura Higgins to act out duties of camp maintenance.
Despite Jones’s initial worry that women were being asked to do less physical tasks and that it could be taken negatively, McGuigan brushed it off. This proved a bad error, however, as Moore accused McGuigan of “misogyny” and later “ageism” when he used her age as a justification for his and Jones’s decisions.
Moore later said she was only joking, but both Tulisa and comedian GK Barry were left unsure...
Elsewhere in the episode, Rooney and Dean McCullough faced a gruesome Bushtucker Trial, winning nine stars for the camp.
Rooney also revealed what happened when she and husband Wayne met Donald Trump.

I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! continues every night at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
In the meantime, the other celebrity is locked in a car being drowned in bugs. Lovely!
Coleen is selected to be in the bug car, and Dean is tasked with digging through gunk.
Dean’s struggle with the bug task a few days ago inspired that choice...
The challenge has begun! “Absolute Carnage” involves one celebrity having to dig through assorted meats and gross stuff in order to find tools to unfasten the bolts attaching stars to a wall.

Coleen here discussing meeting Donald Trump with Wayne and their son.
“We walked in and we got to get the official photograph taken in front of the Christmas tree,” she tells her campmates. “So Donald Trump said to my son ‘see? Told ya, all the soccer players get the good looking girls’.”
“I told my mum, I was like ‘dirty bastard’.”
Oti has donated Richard her bed for the night, after he expressed discomfort about sleeping on a hammock. Nice lady!
Ant and Dec: “At home, Reverend Richard Coles plays the organ. In the jungle, he eats a pig’s organ. At home, he stands on a lecturn. In the jungle, he munches on a rectum.” Comedy!

Dean McCullough and Alan Halsall have tense exchange
In last night’s episode, McCullough decided to take a nap just as Loose Women star Jane Moore said she needed help with the chores.
Coronation Street star Halsall then decided he would wake McCullough to get him to help Moore collect firewood.
Unfortunately, McCullough was unimpressed at being disturbed, even as Halsell asked: “You don’t fancy it? No?”
Halsall then went to help Moore before McCullough got up and told the soap star he could return to the main camp.
“I was trying to wake you up as soft as I could,” Halsall explained.
McCullough responded: “Listen to me. If you’re gonna wake me up, you need to give me a minute, alright? It takes a couple of minutes for my contact lenses to get back working again, alright, so you don’t need to turn around to me and say ‘do you not fancy it?’ ok? And then turn around and walk away.”
Halsell explained: “I’ve listened to you, Jane was halfway down here, that’s why I went…”
“Ok I get that but you need to give me a minute mate,” McCullough interjected.
