From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Among this year’s contestants are N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos, Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall and Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse. Others joining them are Coleen Rooney, McFly singer Danny Jones, and boxer Barry McGuigan.
The first episode of the season saw the cast take part in a series of challenges, with Tulisa and Halsall emerging victorious after a heated race involcing cockroaches, capsized canoes, and blended fish eye cocktails
Fans singled out Dean McCullough as an early favourite after the BBC Radio 1 presenter made a “hilarious” joke about fellow campmate Coleen Rooney’s “Wagatha Christie” trial.
In the first vote of the season, viewers have selected GK Barry to take part in the next episode’s Vile Volcano challenge.
I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! starts this Sunday 17 November, on ITV1 and ITVX.
Hugs all around!
Barry and Barry are joined on the beach by Colleen Roney, Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, Radio 1 DJ and presenter Melvin Odoom.
Barry meet Barry!
Former boxing champion Barry McGuigan meet Loose Women star and content creator GK Barry – real name Grace Keeling.
“We Barry’s have to look out for each other,” says McGuigan upon meeting his namesake on the beach.
We love a bit of honesty from our campmates...
GK Barry: “I’m not good with animals... I’m not actually good with anthing that this show entails...”
Another gem: “What do I bring to the camp? F*** all.”
What do the camp mates win for this first challenge?
The pair who win the race will win the coveted title of the first leaders of camp, unlocking the perks of being able to sleep in the comfort of the Leaders’ Lodge as well as being exempt from the first Bushtucker trial.
Oof, things are off to a rough start
