From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Kelleth Cuthbert, the Fiji Water Girl who caught the public’s attention at this year’s Golden Globes, skilfully photobombing celebrities’s red carpet photos, has a new job.

The model has earned a role on the CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, with her appearance set to air on 6 February, Deadline reports.

Cuthbert posted a photo of herself posing with some of the soap’s cast on Instagram, writing: “Thank you to the lovely folks of @boldandbeautifulcbs for having me yesterday!”

At the Globes, Cuthbert was spotted wearing an on-brand blue dress and carrying a tray of Fiji water bottles – the Golden Globes’ official sponsor – in the background of a number of photos, including of Cody Fern, Nicole Kidman, Idris Elba, and many others.

Instead of turning away or making herself inconspicuous, she seemed to revel in the opportunity to photobomb some of the biggest names in Hollywood, turning to the camera directly.

Fiji Water made the most of the attention, tweeting: “We’re so glad everyone is talking about our water! *senses ominous presence* She’s right behind us, isn’t she? #FIJIwatergirl”.
