Ink Master star Daniel Silva has been ‘arrested for murder’ after the car crash death of YouTuber Corey La Barrie, according to TMZ.

Silva, a tattoo artist with more than a million followers on Instagram, has made a number of appearances on the US reality show.

He was allegedly driving the McLaren sports car at the time of the incident, with TMZ reporting that he was arrested by Los Angeles police shortly after being taken to hospital for a broken hip.

According to the site, the pair “somehow crashed into a street sign and tree”, with “the passenger [La Barrie] taking the brunt of the hit”.

Both men were transported to hospital in the wake of the crash, with La Barrie pronounced dead shortly after.

The pair had been celebrating La Barrie’s 25th birthday.

The death of La Barrie, a popular YouTube star best known for his collaborations with fellow YouTuber Crawford Collins, was confirmed yesterday (11 May) by his mother and brother.

“My heart breaks right now,” Lissa Burton wrote on Instagram. “The accident killed him instantly. No words can describe the sadness I feel in losing a child. It just feels so unreal and I’m overwhelmed with grief. I love you so much Corey and will miss you so so much. It’s just so unfair.”

The Independent has reached out to a representative for Silva for comment.
