Since the new show premiered on Disney+ in the US earlier this month, audiences have praised the inclusion of a young version of the Jedi master.
In fact, baby Yoda has been the biggest talking point around the show, which stars Pedro Pascal and Werner Herzog.
It was Herzog who convinced the creators to keep the character as a puppet when there were discussions to create him using CGI.
The good news, though, is that baby Yoda will be in season two.
This detail was inadvertently confirmed by Johnson, who told The Wrap he spotted baby Yoda when he recently visited the set a little over a month ago.
“The producer shot me a look as if to say, ‘you can’t say a word!’ I’ve been holding that secret in my heart forever now,” he said.
Johnson would have visited the set during the filming of season two, which is currently underway, revealing that baby Yoda will be in the show’s next run, too.
The Mandalorian won’t be available to stream in the UK until 31 March, when Disney+ arrives.
Johnson’s new film, Knives Out, is in cinemas now.
