From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Andrea Faustini takes to the stage this weekend in a final bid to beat Fleur East and Ben Haenow to the title of X Factor winner.
The Italian singer has already recorded his version of “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength’ by Whitney Houston which he will release as a single should he emerge victorious on Sunday night.
Both Ben and Fleur have opted to lay down their rendition of “Something I Need” by One Republic.
But with stiff competition, what are 20-year-old Andrea’s chances of following the likes of Alexandra Burke, James Arthur and Sam Bailey to victory?
Ladbrokes has relegated Andrea to the outside bet ahead of the final with odds of 14/1. Fleur is the runaway favourite at 4/11 while Ben is at 11/4.
Andrea found himself in the bottom two last weekend but Lauren Platt left the competition after a sing-off.
Look back at some of Andrea’s best performances:
"I Didn't Know My Own Strength" by Whitney Houston
"Earth Song" by Michael Jackson
"Somebody To Love" by Queen
"Summertime" by Ella Fitzgerald
"Try A Little Tenderness" by Otis Redding
Andrea will be singing Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” on Saturday, along with “Earth Song” by Michael Jackson which he chose as his song of the series with mentor Mel B.
The X Factor final airs on ITV this Saturday at 8.30pm and again on Sunday at 8pm.
