Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Lady Gaga's One World: Together at Home concert, organised with Global Citizen and the World Health Organisation, is taking place to celebrate the work of healthcare professionals on the frontline in the battle against coronavirus.

Some of the world's biggest music stars are lined up to perform special concerts from home, including Elton John, Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Lady Gaga herself.

A six-hour pre-show will be available to stream online, before a two-hour main event airing both online and on television.

The two separate broadcasts take place from 2 – 8pm ET (7pm – 1am UK time) and another from 8 – 10pm ET (1 – 3am UK time).

Three titans of late-night TV – Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert – will host the event.

Globally, the event will be available to watch online on several platforms. Amazon Prime Video, Facebook, Instagram, TuneIn, Twitch, Twitter and YouTube will all stream the entire event, meaning both the pre-show and the main concert. That will take place from 2pm ET, or 7pm BST.

Apple will air the concert from 8pm ET, or 1am BST, on Apple Music, Apple TV, and Apple Beats 1.
