Your support makes all the difference.Britney Spears has praised her ex Justin Timberlake as a “genius”, despite the pair having “one of the world’s biggest breakups”.
The pop icon posted a video to her Instagram in which she could be seen dancing to Timberlake’s 2018 single “Filthy”, and sweetly addressed the elephant in the room.
“I know we had one of the world’s biggest breakups 20 years ago …… but hey the man is a genius !!!!” Spears wrote in a caption.
“Great song JT !!!! Pssss if you KNOW WHAT’S GOOD.”
Timberlake welcomed the nod, commenting with a laughing emoji and three praise-hands.
Spears’s sister Jamie-Lynn also commented on the post, writing: “Blogs are already plotting their outrageous stories. You keep having fun and looking cute tho.”
Spears and Timberlake dated between the years of 1999 and 2002, having met as children on Disney’s The Mickey Mouse Club and both becoming pop stars at the same time.
Their relationship was one of the most talked-about of the early Noughties, with the pair infamously wearing matching double-denim on the red carpet in 2001.
Spears also revealed in the same Instagram post that she was suffering from boredom during coronavirus lockdown.
“This is my version of Snapchat or TikTok or whatever the cool thing you’re supposed to do these days,” she wrote. “As you can see I’m not really dancing folks …… I’m just very bored.”
In recent weeks Spears has used Instagram to praise the Robert Downey Jr flop Dolittle, clarify she is not faster than Usain Bolt and pledge support for democratic socialism.
