From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The Last Shadow Puppets is a good side-project for Arctic Monkeys' frontman Alex Turner.

Not only does it free him up to explore music genres - as can be heard on their octennial second record Everything You've Come to Expect - but it seems to provide he and musical mate Miles Kane the chance to have a bit more fun with their material.

The music video for new single "Miracle Aligner" is further proof of this. Donning makeup and feeling the groove, the duo proceed to spend the song's entirety dancing through an extravagantly grand room. Watch it for yourself above.

The track - an album highlight - is taken from their first record since 2008's The Age of the Understatement which debuted at number one in April. To celebrate the chart-topper's release, the duo performed a one-off gig in London's Hackney Empire.

A tour across the UK, US and Europe follows with several festival spots lined up throughout the summer including a stop at Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage.

Of course, this isn't the first time Turner has taken to the stage having headlined with Arctic Monkeys twice before in 2007 and 2013.
