Coldplay open with Yellow in record-breaking headline set on Pyramid Stage

Coldplay are headlining Saturday night at Glastonbury for a record-breaking fifth time, after pop star Dua Lipa dazzled the crowds on Friday (28 June).

In a post to Instagram Stories just before their set, the band said there was “no place like home” as they shared a view from the Pyramid Stage.

So far in their set, they’ve performed a number of their biggest hits including “Yellow”, “Paradise”, “The Scientist” and “Clocks”.

Lipa, 28, impressed The Independent’s critics with a set comprising some of her biggest hits, along with singles from her latest album, Radical Optimism.

Across the weekend, an eclectic lineup will perform on the sprawling festival’s various stages.

Some of Friday’s highlights so far have included a thrilling performance from baroque-pop newcomers The Last Dinner Party, and a celebratory farewell from veteran Cyndi Lauper.

Meanwhile on Friday, the Sugababes drew a massive audience at West Holts, causing security to close down the stage in an attempt to prevent overcrowding.

Here is the full Glastonbury 2024 lineup and set times.
