From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Will, Simon, Neil and Jay are officially animal killers after a poor kangaroo became the victim of a hit-and-run while filming The Inbetweeners 2.

The cast shared the truth about their experience while shooting the sequel in Australia.

“Yeah that did happen,” said James Buckley, addressing the rumours. “It was an accident. There was a mate of mine that turned up in the outback to come and have a drink with me.

“He travelled all the way from England for a pint, and on his journey in, he did hit a kangaroo.”

Simon Bird, who plays the nerdy Will, then added dismissively: “But they’re rodents, aren’t they?”

When asked to sum up the film in just one word, the group replied with “rude”, “flies”, “penises” and “vomit” - not predictable at all.

Buckley also revealed that “a lot of nakedness” went on during filming, which will not come as a surprise to fans of the hit TV series.

It was confirmed earlier this week that there will not be a third movie in the franchise, but The Inbetweeners 2 has already smashed UK box office records, bringing in the most money on its first day of any comedy film.

The storyline follows the hapless four-some as they visit Jay on his gap year adventures down under.
