Serenity, a film described as containing “the most seismically stupid twists in cinematic history” by The Independent, has finally reached UK cinemas and Sky Movies.
Starring both Anne Hathaway and Matthew McConaughey, the film – which bombed at the US box-office – has been unanimously panned.
However, Steven Knight, best known for creating the TV series Peaky Blinders, can find solace knowing that his latest directorial effort contains some of the most unintentionally funniest dialogue seen in a film for quite some time.
The film centres on Baker Dill (McConaughey), a fishing boat captain who lives on the fictional Island of Plymouth. Soon enough, his ex-wife Karen (Hathaway) tracks him down and begs Baker to save her and their son from her abusive husband, played by Jason Clarke. That is until the ludicrous twist manifests.
