Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Avengers: Endgame star Paul Rudd and Jimmy Fallon joined forces for a shot-for-shot remake of the music video for Dead or Alive’s “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)”.

Dead or Alive, formed in 1980 in Liverpool, found success throughout the following decade, with seven singles reaching the UK Top 40, although “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)” remains their biggest hit.

Rudd was perfectly made up to look like vocalist Pete Burns, while Fallon had to stand in for the rest of the band: bassist Mike Percy, drummer Steve Coy, and keyboard player Tim Lever.

Rudd was also joined by his fellow Endgame co-stars for another musical cover, recapping the last ten years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the help of a Billy Joel classic.

Singing to the tune of “We Didn’t Start the Fire”, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, Don Cheadle, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, and Brie Larson raced through the franchise so far.

Rudd even listed all the Infinity Stones – Space, Time, Soul, Mind, Power, and Reality – before running out of breath.

Edited to appear like the panels of comic books, images from the various films, from 2008’s Iron Man right up to this year’s Captain Marvel, eventually merged together to create a picture of the late Stan Lee, who died in November.

Avengers: Endgame is out in UK cinemas now.
