From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The cast of Avengers: Endgame helped fans recap the last ten years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the help of a Billy Joel classic.

Singing to the tune of “We Didn’t Start the Fire”, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, Don Cheadle, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, and Brie Larson raced through the franchise so far.

Rudd even listed all the Infinity Stones – Space, Time, Soul, Mind, Power, and Reality – before running out of breath.

Edited to appear like the panels of comic books, images from the various films, from 2008’s Iron Man right up to this year’s Captain Marvel, eventually merged together to create a picture of the late Stan Lee, who died in November.

The first reactions to Avengers: Endgame have appeared online, following the film’s premiere in Los Angeles on Monday night, with one audience member, journalist Brandon Davis, calling it the “perfect culmination” of the 22 films released before it.

Avengers: Endgame will be released in UK cinemas on 25 April.
