American critics lucky enough to have seen the film have been invited to share their feedback for the Warner Bros release.
According to many, the film is a vast improvement on 2014 film Godzilla with Collider's Steven Weintraub calling it "everything I wanted the last movie to be and more."
Nerdist writer Dan Casey suggested the film was even more fun than blockbuster Avengers: Endgame, tweeting: "Easily the most fun I've had in theatres all year... the scale is mind-boggling."
Megan Peters of ComicBook.com called the film "breathtaking", adding it was "the film [she's] waited years for".
The new film, directed by Krampus' Mike Dougherty, stars Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Sally Hawkins O'Shea Jackson.
