The final trailer for the forthcoming Black Widow has been released, with Scarlett Johansson returning as secret agent Natasha Romanov.

The trailer begins with Natasha’s sister Yelena (Florence Pugh) catching up over drinks and revealing she has created an elaborate ruse to explain her absence over the years.

Further scenes show the pair facing off against Taskmaster, the film’s villain, who appears to have brainwashed an army of minions into serving him.

There is also new footage of the pair’s parents, played by Rachel Weisz and David Harbour, including an extended scene of the quartet at dinner in which Weisz’s character urges Natasha not to slouch.

William Hurt and Ray Winstone also appear in the film, which will reportedly feature a posthumous cameo from Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr).

Black Widow, which is set prior to the events of last year’s Avengers: Endgame, will also potentially solve a mystery set up in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War involving Frank Grillo’s character Crossbones.

While Black Widow has been hit by speculation its release may be shifted due to coronavirus, so far Disney have not announced any changes to the film’s release strategy.

A full list of films, television series and events affected by the outbreak, including No Time to Die and SXSW, can be found here.

Black Widow will be released in cinemas 1 May.
