From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, the film follows robotics prodigy Hiro Hamanda and his best friend Baymax, a balloon-like robot.
The trailer shows the creation of Baymax for the first time, who was initially created by Hiro’s older brother to become a healthcare assistant. But Hiro has other plans, and instead uses the robot to help fight a super villain attacking their home town “San Fransokyo”.
The two minute clip also shows the growing and at times heart-warming relationship between the Hiro and Baymax as they begin to depend on each other.
Directed by Don Hall (Winnie the Pooh) and Chris Williams (Bolt), the film is the first Disney movie to feature Marvel characters since The Walt Disney Company bought Marvel Entertainment in 2009.
Featuring the voices of Jamie Chung, TJ Miller, Alan Tudky and Genesis Rodriguez, the trailer shows Big Hero 6 still has the heart and light humour that audiences have come to enjoy from Disney films.
Big Hero 6 is due to be released in 3D in the UK on 30 January, making it a possible Oscar contender for the Best Animated Feature category following the success of Disney’s Frozen at the awards this year.
