From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

With less than a month until the release of Avengers: Infinity War, multiple trailers for the blockbuster have landed online.

Two new TV spots have landed within the past few days, including one titled ‘Gone’ and another called ‘All of Them’.

The former features Black Widow offering up the great line “We don’t want to kill you, but we will” while the second sees Groot using some very profound language.

Infinity War, which marks the culmination of 10 years of Marvel movies, has already set records — the first full trailer became the most-watched trailer within 24 hours ever, while the second came in close behind, holding the third spot.

American ticket sellers Fandango say the Russo Brothers-directed movie became the fastest-selling superhero movie within a 24 hour period, beating previous record holder Black Panther within just six hours.

Meanwhile, Black Panther — the titular character from which features in Infinity War — continues to smash box-office records, becoming the highest-grossing superhero movie of all time in the US.

Infinity War touches down 27 April.
