UK weather: Weekend weather warnings in place as snow continues

Your support makes all the difference.The Met Office has implemented amber warnings for snow in Scotland throughout Friday and Saturday.
Forecasts predict that 10-15 cm of fresh snow will fall at low levels, going up to 30cm at raised locales, with the highest areas facing the possibility of 50cm of snow.
The amber warnings are in force Central, Tayside & Fife, Grampian, Highland, Strathclyde from midnight on Friday until 6pm on Saturday.
Thursday does not bring clear skies for the rest of the country, with yellow warnings for rain in Northern Ireland, North East England, and Yorkshire. Scotland will see freezing temperatures and snow.
Temperatures in South of England will be much milder, with rain predicted throughout Thursday. This rain will clear to sunny spells on Friday, with an overcast weekend predicted for the South.
On Saturday, the amber warnings in Scotland will be alongside new yellow warnings for snow and ice in the East Midlands, the East of England, North East England, Staffordshire, and Yorkshire and the Humber.
These warnings will be in place from Saturday at 3pm until late on Monday night. The Met Office warns of road delays, the isolation of rural communities, and disrupted power lines.
Some 191 flood warnings and alerts are in place across the country, caused by swollen rivers post Storm Christophe, as well as fresh rain and snowfall.
