Why single out skiers as having to take out extended insurance to cover the cost of injury treatment ("Ski injuries cost NHS millions" 20 April)? What about all the football and rugby players, the marathon runners etc that fill casualty departments every weekend? Should we not also look at couch potatoes with their own particular range of selfmade demands on the NHS due to lack of exercise, obesity, tobacco, alcohol, drug use, etc.
