JACK HUGHES in 'Cries & Whispers' (11 September) has been pipped to the post with his creation of a new verse form. The 'clerihaiku' has already been invented.
It has the same rhyming scheme as a clerihew and the syllable count is five/seven/five as in the haiku, and an example can be found in How To Be Well Versed In Poetry (Viking, 1990) edited by my late husband, E O Parrott.
