Letter: Poor parents save on angst

I WOULD like Justine Picardie (Home Thoughts, Review, 31 July) to know that some parents prepared their baby's food, and eschewed even the organic baby rice which is on sale. This was not from any altruistic motive but simply because it was cheaper. We took time to prepare not simply 'to show how much we care' but to economise. This seems to have spared us the angst with which she believes most parents today are afflicted. Thank goodness for being poor.
