Sir: It was worrying to read that the Sportsman's Association believes the Firearms Bill will "dislocate the lives of tens of thousands of sportsmen" (letter, 19 November). A person who will be "dislocated" by the withdrawal of their right to shoot handguns would seem to me to be an inappropriate person to have access to a handgun in the first place. To read that there are "tens of thousands" of such people is truly terrifying.
