Letter: Victims of domestic violence want different outcomes

FOR DOMESTIC violence to be dealt with by mediation responsibility for acts of violence needs to be addressed first. This means violent men being prosecuted and convicted. Otherwise you have a situation in which one of the people being "reconciled" is in a position to use violence against the other and to get away with it.

I wish I had gone to the police when I experienced violence in a relationship. Instead I was pressurised by others to do nothing.
