Sir: Stephen Woodard suggests that the Prime Minister should start to unite the country with a consensus on Europe, and not allow so-called rebel MPs to dictate European policy.
Surely, the best way to nullify the rebels is to ask the electorate what it wants from Europe. It is unlikely that any consensus of unity on this particular issue can be achieved without such a vote, and until then the 'rebel' MPs will continue to be seen by many people to hold the moral high ground.
Yours faithfully,
M. A. STEPHENS
