Sir: Ralph Rochester (Letters, 8 July) mistakenly identifies the pikeman on the 24p English Civil War stamp as being from the New Model Army. The artist, Jeremy Sancha, took as his model a member of this society, whose 'wistful gaze' may be noted during the summer months at our events throughout the realm but whose persuasion is decidedly that of serving his king - Charles I]
