In my reporting on women's reproductive rights, I've witnessed the critical role that independent journalism plays in protecting freedoms and informing the public.

Your support allows us to keep these vital issues in the spotlight. Without your help, we wouldn't be able to fight for truth and justice.

Every contribution ensures that we can continue to report on the stories that impact lives

Sir: Andrew Marr (28 September) talks of the 'diverse' politicians Tony Blair, Clare Short and David Blunkett addressing the Tribune rally at the Labour Party conference. Surely, Mr Marr could have found a more appropriate description than 'diverse'. The phrase he is looking for is 'like three peas in a pod'.

The Shadow Cabinet believes its policies must shadow those of the Tories. Where's the beef? Where's the vision? Where's the passion? There is none.

In the clamour for an explanation about the inequalities and cruelties in our society, Labour provides millions with not a single word. You could not slip an American Express card between these or any other party spokespersons' ethereal opinions.

Yours sincerely,

ANTHONY THOMAS
