Sir: I used to be very pleased to display a back-window car sticker that proclaimed: "If you can read this, thank a teacher."
In the same spirit, might it not have been better to report HMI Woodhead's summary of Ofsted inspections as "48 per cent of all lessons found to be good or excellent", or even "another year of improved results for all schools"?
