Sir: Doctors are not allowed to test new drugs except in properly managed trials which are carefully assessed to determine the best treatment. Poor education, like poor medical treatment, can leave people damaged for life. Are methods of teaching reading and arithmetic tested with the same care that is applied to the assessment of drugs?
