Sir: It is very encouraging to find a national newspaper taking up the cudgels on behalf of ordinary people ('Antis' road show'). We have a similar problem in this area: a proposal to build a relief road for the M62.

A campaign has been mounted to fight the proposal, but the attitude of the Department of Transport is high-handed. Surely people and their homes are more important than cars and motorways.
