Sir: As the organisation which has the concerns of those who live and work in rural Somerset very much to heart, we were pleased to see from your report of 26 May ('Lottery offers 14 million to one chance of jackpot') that the winning bid for the national lottery intends that outlets for tickets should include post offices.

Without wishing to reopen previous correspondence about the value of post offices to rural people, we trust that all post offices will be able to sell tickets so that those of us in rural areas can benefit without disadvantage.

Yours faithfully,

P. W. LACEY
