Letter: Police trying to remove racism

I AM writing to complain about the article 'Race awareness helps police to confess all' (21 November). I am a participant on the course in question, and your article totally misrepresented it, suggesting that the police are merely jumping on the bandwagon of the 'race relations industry' when in fact there is a genuine desire to ensure that racist behaviour by police officers is eradicated.

I was misquoted by your reporter, Esther Oxford, and to suggest that 'I only volunteered because I felt it was the easiest route to promotion' was pure fabrication. I, for one, shall never trust a journalist again with my frank and honest views.
