Sir: Mr Justice Ognall has exposed an essential flaw in our legal system. He said to Nigel Cox that he (Dr Cox) let his feelings get the better of his judgement. He is saying reason and logic must always rule over sentiment and intuition.

He is wrong. Both are essential for justice and humanity. Hence bad law and the bad sentence given to Dr Cox.

Yours sincerely,

PETER HUNT
