Letter: Not a question of 'good' and 'bad' teachers

Sir: For too long I have read of the failings of teachers. We have become the target of both the major parties. I have been a teacher since 1969 in both sectors and, for the most part, worked with caring, dedicated professionals. I am not denying that there are some weak teachers, but are there not also weak doctors, lawyers, bank clerks, painters, decorators and even journalists?
