Sir: Your coverage of the proposed revision of the national curriculum is welcome ('Teachers welcome more flexible guidelines', 10 May). It is a crucial initiative.
So too is the new Code of Practice on special educational needs, which was approved in Parliament on Monday with rather less publicity. The code will affect every teacher and governor in the maintained sector. It has the potential to help 1.5 million schoolchildren who have special needs, including the very many whose dyslexia is unrecognised and neglected.
Yours faithfully,
PAUL CANN
