Sir: Thank God someone has written a leading article castigating the Tory right over the Maastricht Bill (26 October). Nauseating and pathetic seem apt, if mild, adjectives to describe the creatures who by their daily posturing remind us that patriotism is indeed the last refuge of scoundrels.
