Letter: Made in Britain
Your support helps us to tell the story
My recent work focusing on Latino voters in Arizona has shown me how crucial independent journalism is in giving voice to underrepresented communities.
Your support is what allows us to tell these stories, bringing attention to the issues that are often overlooked. Without your contributions, these voices might not be heard.
Every dollar you give helps us continue to shine a light on these critical issues in the run up to the election and beyond

Sir: Although the US stopped production of plutonium in 1988, President Bush's statement that US plutonium production will cease is still welcome ('Bush announces new nuclear cut-back', 14 July). This leaves Britain in the invidious position of being the world leader in production of a substance, the main purpose of which is the manufacture of nuclear weapons.
We urge the Government to discontinue plutonium recovery and decommission the Thermal Oxide Reprocessing Plant at Sellafield, Cumbria.
Yours faithfully,
