Letter: Left in the dark over council tax

IN HIS informative article on the council tax ('Disunited nations', Business, 28 February), Paul Gosling understates the difficulty in obtaining information, particularly for those living in the countryside. Like all householders, I received the Department of the Environment booklet, Council Tax: A Guide, in November. In early December I applied for four of the further information booklets. Two arrived after six weeks. However, the most relevant, How to Appeal and Transitional Reduction, have not arrived despite my asking my MP, Environment Minister David Maclean, to investigate the delay a month ago.
